The
Christmas programme was held at Don Bosco Dungalpitiya on 16th of December at
4.00 pm. It was organized by the Provincial Superior – Rev. Fr. Nihal Liyanage,
the Economer – Rev. Fr. Shiran Karawgodage and the administrator – Rev. Fr.
Niroshan Fernando. There were Salesians, priests, nuns, religious, distinguished
guests and special invitees who participated in the programme. The gracious
presence of His Excellency Mgr. Joseph Spiteri, the Apostolic Nuncio in Sri
Lanka, made the event graceful and the guest of honour was Rev. Fr. Pinot the
Rector of Don Bosco, Negombo. The purpose of this program was to focus on
joyfully receiving the gift of God's Love and sharing it with others. The students of the evening extra classes are
all set to mesmerize the crowd with colorful presentations of the candle dance
and singing. The students of the English academy, members of the staff, the members
of ADMA and Salesians perform variety of items to make the event attractive. The
drama named “Have a Fleeting Look on us”
captured the audience with glamor. The main theme of the drama was about Peace; peace is not a
state of absence of guns and hostility, but the sensation of protection in
which, the poor, the weak and the oppressed feel. The incantation of Christ had
brought a tremendous value on a true
leader. An authentic leader is a humble servant of the people. Let this
leadership be incarnated every day in our hearts and in our society in order to
be the prophets in our days, thus to create a better world for tomorrow. Merry
Christmas to every one!
